Find a Certified Healing Foods Specialist (CHFS) in your area!

    • Paul Yeager, CHFS

When Paul found out he was HIV+ in June 2004, he was immediately determined to survive because of his deep passion for making people happy through music.  In addition to his lifelong studies in classical music, Paul was studying massage therapy in Las Vegas, Nevada for 7 months, just prior to his HIV+ test result. These studies, like Paul's studies of music, were also created out of Paul's strong desire to help other people.  Massage Therapy training gave Paul a rigorous scientific education in Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology.

Paul spent the next three whole years doing almost nothing but researching HIV/AIDS, and the basic biochemistry of immunology and toxicology.  Paul's scientific research from Germany showed that AIDS could be remedied through nutrition. This research was extremely dense, and it took Paul months to figure out exactly what it was saying. Through great strides, Paul eventually realized that what it was offering was a completely new theory of the scientific causes of Acquired Immune Deficiency and how to address these causes in any human being.  Paul not only innovated how to implement this therapy without having to fly to Germany, but also figured out how the science applied to the food we eat, the lives we lead, and the environments we live in. Ultimately, it was with this newly formulated holistic theory of his own that Paul beat AIDS in his own kitchen with foods geared towards the immune system.

Paul is a Certified Healing Food Specialist, an aspiring web designer and self-published book author. He strives to vastly empower the health of immune-compromised clientelle and many others by applying the sum total of his intimate holistic knowledge of the immune system and how food/diet, lifestyle, and environment affect human health.  Although he started out in life as a classical musician, he believes destiny has carved out for him a broader path towards healing.  Paul is also the author of the new book, "Immune: How to Beat AIDS in Your Kitchen".  Based on the author's personal experiences of surviving AIDS in 2005 and coming to thrive immensely thereafter, Immune is a book about how to repair, rebuild, and stabilize the immune system. The book is for all people, although it can mean the difference between life and death for the immune-compromised person. It is a thorough scientific, yet holistic inquiry into the exact nature of how lifestyle, nutritional, and environmental factors actually cause immune illness. The book shows how to reverse these causes using simple kitchen practices and lifestyle remedies in order to regain immune health and happiness.

Paul is always looking forward to helping people through individualized Immunity Consultations by phone, email, or in person. For those in desperate need of simple truth on how to nourish and protect the human body, Paul offers his services on a sliding-scale basis.  Don't hesitate to visit the consultation link for a listing of services and rates!

    • Donna McIntosh, CHFS, MS

Donna has been interested in health and fitness most of her life.  She started out at the University of AZ as a Physical Eduaction major, but changed her major to Business Administration with a PE minor.  She enjoys running, tennis, archery, and golf.  She won't turn down a chance at hoops or kicking around a soccer ball.  At least three times per week, you will find Donna at the gym lifting weights to keep things "toned".  That is really important as we age.

After starting, running and selling several businesses, Donna studied Massage.  For the past 19 years she has been a massage therapist working to educate people about their bodies and to assist in relieving injuries and pain.  She studied and obtained her Masters in Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College in Birmingham, AL.  She is currently enrolled in the PhD program.  Advanced Nutrition Group, Inc. was born two years ago.  Donna enjoys coaching others about their health and help them to recognize "good" food from "bad" food.  Most people haven't a clue when it comes to understanding food labels.  She practices what she calls, "Functional Nutrition".  Standard lab tests are used to uncover YOUR biochemical individuality.  When the lab results show something out of "functional" range, a specific eating program and supplement regimen are designed to help.  Then, after a specified time, the lad is run again to see what imporvements have taken place.  So, everything is based on scientific labs that are common in everyday practice.

Diet wise, Donna really believes in the practices of Weston A. Price and the Price Foundation.  This is based on the science of what traditional cultures ate and how they prepared thier foods to stay healthy.  This has proven beneficial to many.  Donna will begin cooking classes in 2009 showing people how to cook using these time-tested, traditional techniques.  Classes are fun and informative and open to all over the age of 16.  Donna will be taking the CHFS Level II Master Training and may go on to become a CHFS Instructor!

The slogan of Advanced Nutrition Group, Inc. is "Partnerships in Health".  The client must be present and involved in their health decisions.  Donna expects a lot from her clients because she gives a lot in return.  Services are as follows:

    • Maredith (Edie) Brennan, CHFS

Maredith (Edie) is a busy mother of two, who began her own journey to achieve health as she struggled with unsuccessful medical treatments for ulcerative colitis as a young adult.  After years of increasing treatments, medications, and threatening surgeries, all with no results in symptom reduction, she was able to heal herself through diet and nutrition rapidly.  Her self-guided study led her to eventually becoming a Certified Healing Foods Specialist.

Edie has been working with children with Austism Spectrum Disorder(s) since 1994, and owns Autism and Behavior Consultants, Inc.  Her company now has two CHFS (herself and Emily Cowles) and has begun providing families with support and direction in finding, developing, and implementing the nutritional and biomedical treatments that are best suited to each child, in addition to the intensive early intervention program already offered.  She is very passionate about health and wellness for all, and educating others to achieve their optimal health and potential.  As a Certified Healing Foods Specialist she is dedicated to providing services and resources for anyone who wishes to achieve better health, overcome illness, have better immunity and longevity, and live a happier, more balanced life.

Services are individualized and typically consist of an initial assessment and recommendations/resources given, along with follow-up consultations, guidance in choosing and shopping for food, as well as demonstration and assistance with food preparation if desired.  Having been through a transition to a nourishing, whole foods diet after dealing with the frustrations of poor health, financial strain, and conflicting medical advice, Edie understands how overwhleming the process can seem and strives to make it attainable and practical for everyone based on their own individual needs and situations.  Call or email for information on availability of services, fees, and any questions you may have.

Emily has been passionate about nutrition and diet since 1995 when a six month old under her care was ready for solid foods.  Since then, she has enjoyed helpgin friends and family become aware of ways to build immunity, nourish their bodies, and live a lifestyle that supports abundant living, guided by her own journey of research and making changes to her own life.  Seeing the effects of these changes in the lives of others as well brings her great joy.  She is passionate about living against the grain of our modern society and culture, in order to reconnect with the spiritual and physical wellbeing that is available to each of us.

Emily met and began working with Edie Brennan in 2001, helping children with ASD develop through therapy utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).  Working with these families, they have witnessed first hand how nutritional changes have improved the quality of life and family environment for these children.  It is her hope to be able to assist more children to achieve health and their ultimate potential, first and foremost through healing their bodies and minds with therapeutic educational support where needed.
